Description
This is a Soviet made 85 mm Finder for the classic rangefinders (Leica, Contax and their copies). Made of plastic with glass optics.
The finder is clean and fully functional – the image is clear and sharp. It was sold as a separate accessory for the Soviet 85 mm lens – Jupiter-9 (in both LTM and Contax bayonet mount).
It is shown on a Leica IIIa (camera and lens are not included)
Robin Adshead –
This is the obvious accessory for the 85mm Jupiter-9 f2 lens. It is as clear and bright as the results from the lens itself. Other than use the Universal finder, this is the only way to view what your 85mm lens is seeing. Don’t forget to aim off a bit for parallax as there is no way to compensate for this except using the brain and the Mark One Eyeball of the shooter !
My only gripe is that there is no locking foot on the finder, so you have to be careful not to rub it off in use.
