Description
The Russian Jupiter-8 is a high quality normal lens for the Leica Threadmount rangefinder cameras.
It was sold as a standard lens on many cameras – Zorki-3, 3M, 4, 4K, Leningrad, Drug and some others. This lens is a copy of the famous Zeiss Sonnar 50/2.
It was produced in both LTM and Contax/Kiev mount and proved to be one of the most successful Soviet lenses.
This is the last version of the Jupiter-8, the barrel is finished in black, the lens is more compact and modern-looking. The “8-1” designation was used for the last batch of the lenses made in the early 1990’s. The Jupiter-8-1 is identical to the J-8, with the exception of the colored dials. This is an excellent normal lens for your Leica, Bessa, FED, Zorki, or any Leica mount body. With a LTM-M adapter this lens can be used on M-mount bodies.

Tim Kirkland –
Excellent lens. Brand new, in perfect condition. Added a LTM to M-mount adapter and put it on Bessa R2 . Good sharp, contrasty lens. Good dealing with Yuri.

Just got my NOS Jupiter-8-1, 50/2 today. Wonderful service, as usual, from Yuri. I put the lens on my Bessa R, and I’m running some color print film through the camera to see how it does. I’ve wanted a 50mm lens for this camera for a while, and this one fills the bill admirably! Thanks once again to Yuri for a chance to buy FSU gear without worrying about getting junk.
