It?s not a rangefinder, not a SLR, so somewhere it "should" be some cheap camera-thingy.

Well, it?s definitely not a cheap camera-thingy.
Rather a well designed Fed model, absolutely capable of taking perfect photos.

All extra work to be done is finding out the distance, so this is the extra homework to do. Which is not that difficult at all.

Once this is done, you have a friendly camera, absolutely capable of producing perfect photos.
